Hey, my name is imani

I'm a portrait photographer based in Austin, TX. I believe the best images come from real connection—the kind that happens when we let our walls down and show up as we actually are. I travel the world to work with families, creatives, and leaders who want portraits that feel honest. My approach is simple: we spend time together, I pay attention to who you really are, and we create images that honor that. To every single session, I bring my camera, my curiosity, and a commitment to capturing you at your most authentic.

Your life is filled with irreplaceable moments that can slip away with time. I’m here to help you capture and keep them vivid.
Photography has always been part of my life, but motherhood made me an artist.
Something fundamental shifted when I became a mother—not just in how I moved through the world, but in how I saw it. Suddenly I was acutely aware of time's passage, of how quickly moments disappear. I started noticing what I'd always walked past: morning light turning everything golden, the weight of a small hand in mine, the profound beauty hiding in ordinary chaos.
That awareness changed everything about how I work. I'm no longer just documenting what's in front of me—I'm translating the feeling of presence, the ache of impermanence, the truth of right now. Motherhood taught me to see with urgency and tenderness simultaneously.
This is the perspective I bring to every portrait session.
Portrait photography is where I find my deepest creative satisfaction—the art of truly seeing someone and translating that into an image that feels undeniably them.
There's a moment in every session when something shifts. The performance drops away, and I see exactly who you are. That's what I'm after. Not the polished version or the camera-ready smile, but the authentic presence that makes you unmistakably yourself.
I work with people across all stages of life—professionals who need images that reflect their authority, creatives building their personal brands, individuals marking meaningful transitions. What connects every session is my commitment to capturing truth over perfection.
This is the work that matters to me: creating portraits that honor who you actually are, not who you think you should be for the camera. When you see yourself clearly reflected in an image, that's when photography becomes art.
